Between the airport and the river
Staines-upon-Thames sits where the Thames, the A30 and the M25 meet, with Heathrow a few miles to the north-east. That shapes the work here. Stanwell, Ashford and the edges of Staines have freight sites and airport suppliers, many running long days or shifts through the night. Staines town centre and Sunbury, near junction 1 of the M3, have offices. Across the river, Egham has offices and shops, and Chertsey and Addlestone, close to junction 11 of the M25, add business parks and trade units. Schools and colleges are spread across all of it.
The area covers two boroughs. The Staines side of the river, now Spelthorne, was part of Middlesex until 1965 and has been in Surrey since. The Egham and Chertsey side, now Runnymede, has always been in Surrey. One weekly route covers both, so a firm with sites in Staines and Chertsey can have them serviced on the same day.
Security, shifts and term time
Sites near the airport often have security of their own, such as passes and escorted visitors. At the site survey we note your process and every driver follows it. Freight sites get a visit window agreed at the survey, timed for when their washrooms are quietest. Schools and colleges get visits that follow their own term dates, with service paused or reduced in the holidays. Roads around junction 13 can be slow at peak times, so we plan the day to reach the busiest stretches outside the rush where we can.
Colleges, schools and contractors working for public bodies often need paperwork for audits. Every customer gets our compliance pack: the annual waste transfer note, our upper-tier waste carrier registration, insurance certificates, our CHAS certificate and visit records. Our compliance page explains what each document is for.
What sites here ask for
Schools and colleges ask for feminine hygiene units in every girls’, women’s and accessible toilet, and our page for schools and colleges explains how we handle term dates and fixed annual prices. Logistics sites with large men’s washrooms often add urinal care. If you want to understand your own duties for sanitary waste, our guide to offensive waste and duty of care sets them out in plain English.
