From the Thames to the Chilterns
This part of our patch runs from the river at Marlow and Bourne End, up the Wye valley through Wooburn Green and Loudwater, to High Wycombe and Beaconsfield on the edge of the Chilterns. It’s a mixed area. Marlow and Beaconsfield have small offices, shops, restaurants and pubs along their high streets. High Wycombe is the largest town on the route, with offices and shops in the centre and Cressex Business Park near junction 4 of the M40, where warehouses and workshops sit side by side. The furniture trade that made Wycombe’s name has shrunk, but a fair amount of light industry remains.
Schools are a big part of the work. Buckinghamshire still runs a selective system, so the route takes in grammar schools and other secondaries as well as primaries, academy trusts and independent schools, and each one keeps its own calendar.
Working to the school year
Academies and independent schools often set term dates that differ from the council’s, so we work from your own calendar. In term time we visit at a time you agree, often during lessons when the toilets are empty. Drivers sign in at reception and follow your safeguarding rules on every visit. In the holidays you can pause service, or keep a visit going if the site runs holiday clubs or is let out to other groups.
Workshops and offices run all year, so they stay on the normal cycle: every four weeks for most, and weekly or fortnightly for the busier washrooms on the estates.
Services most asked for here
Secondary schools usually want feminine hygiene units in every girls’, staff and accessible toilet. Workshop washrooms at Cressex and on the smaller estates often swap paper towels for cotton roller towels, which we change on each visit. Offices and high-street restaurants in Marlow and Beaconsfield mostly ask for soap and hand care, with dispensers that suit the room. Our schools and colleges page explains how we price for schools and trusts, including invoices split by site.
